Service Details

This service is designed for Sash Windows with draught’s, rattles and opening problems. When draught proofing your existing Sash Windows we will be checking the weights, fitting new nylon cords, fitting new parting and staff beads with draught excluders. This draught excluder is also fitted across the centre of your bottom Sash. You will be able to open both of your Sash Windows with ease and without any rattles. A minimum of 90% of the draught will be eradicated.

The most important aspect of this service is to remember the draughts come round the window and not through the glass. Therefore it is not always necessary to replace your Sash Windows, draught exclusion can be carried out without major structural work being required in order to cure this problem. Sashes are finished with our quality range of Window Furniture including dual position security locks. These security locks are insurance approved and designed to be Child Safe; allowing the window to be open to a fixed position but not fully opened. The first step in our repainting service is to burn off the existing paint from your Pulley Stile’s and Sill’s. The inside of the box where the architrave is situated will then be sanded down and re-painted.
On the Sash Windows the flat surfaces to both sides are also completely burnt back down the bear timber then sanded down. Both the Box Frame and Sashes are then painted with three coats of a micro porous acrylic paint.

When your Sash Windows are ready for re-installation, they are fitted back with the full draught exclusion system (see above).
